Today's Shower

After the unintentional shower I just received.. I now know why kids cups are no longer served in styrofoam and are served in plastic at most restaurants...

Awesome!

Alex's new word at 22 months is "awesome".  I don't know where he heard it from, but he keeps saying it.

Things you learn...

I did not know my bra can be used as a hat, a cape, as a backpack, and as a necklace.  #thinksyoulearnfromatodddler

Wheels on The Bus

Yesterday in swim class I was wondering why Alex sings so loudly?  Man he rocked that "Wheels on the Bus!"  We were in a Thai restaurant two weeks ago and he sang the alphabet at the top of his lungs.  (Just a little embarrassing). Today driving in Camarillo.. Singing at the top of my lungs to the toddler Pandora channel.. I realized where it comes from.  ðŸ˜³  #mybad

$100

Of all the things Alex loses.. I do appreciate him running to me with a $1 and a $100 bill this morning.

Where's your belly button?

I asked Alex:  "Where's your belly button?"
He started yanking on his penis...
Close.. But not close enough..

Whoop Ass....

I watched a 3 year old girl push my son out of the way because he was in her personal space.  Alex will tell a little kid "NO!" As his way of saying "don't push me" and stand up for himself.  So of course he chased after her yelling "NO!".  He wasn't pushing her, so I wasn't worried.  The mother of the girl said, "Is this your son?  He's hurting my daughter."  My blood is still boiling after an hour.  My son did not hurt your kid.  She was obviously just scared.  Maybe she needs to hang around more kids if she's gonna be afraid of a kid a year younger than her...

I Love You

I whispered to Alex:  I love you...
He whispered back:  ok....

Someday he'll understand the meaning of I love you...

Cake Please

Me: Alex... Say, "Grammy, cake please."
Alex:  Pizza!!
Close enough...

The Fruit Diet

I've made 3 breakfasts and two lunches... Alex's food consumption today includes: blueberries and half an orange for breakfast and a peach for lunch.  Is there a hot new fruit diet I don't know about?  My house is a mess trying to get this kid to eat something other than fruit...

Wake Up Call

Nothing starts the morning with hearing slurping and "yuuuuum!"  I look over and my child is eating toothpaste.  Ok... good... I'm going back to bed.....

Alex's First Airplane Ride

Zach was invited to a conference in Seattle, which we could tag along on.  The question was whether or not to take Alex and we decide to take him on the adventure.

Alex loved the shuttle/bus ride from our parking spot.  He kept exclaiming "bus!" And I was interested on how he'd do on the plane.

We knew when booking the flight that it was during his nap time.  So either he was going to pass out the entire trip or we were going to have problems.

Unfortunately, we had problems.

The IPad kept him occupied for the first hour of the 2.5 hour trip.  But then he started getting antsy.  Someone had mentioned about walking the aisle, so I thought we'd give it a try.

He was ok walking from the back of the plane to the front, but he was too scared to walk from the front to the back.  I guess he didn't want to look at everybody as he passed by, which is weird because he is so friendly with strangers.  I guess there were just too many strangers.  So I carried him back to our seat with minimal crying.

He wanted to walk again, so I took him, but when he wasn't allowed in first class... He lost his mind!  I had to carry a toddler with his blood curdling scream through the entire plane to the back.  I was surprised there weren't riots, or boycotts, or that we weren't thrown off the plane by the other passengers.  We quickly gave Alex some Greek yogurt pretzels and prayed he'd stop crying.

At that moment I remembered eyeing a one year old also getting on the plane.  As a parent with a toddler, you are aware of the feelings of other passengers thinking, "Oh God.. Don't put me near the toddler."  And I do remember thinking about that little boy... "It's gonna be you or us.. Who's it gonna be?"  Sure enough... It was us.

Guess who passed out the second the plane landed?
